Midlands Apprentice Promoted To Management Position After 18 Months.
Photobooth.co.uk the Midlands based event and corporate Photo Booth Hire Company has appointed Cara Downie as Hire Division Manager, 18 months after joining the company as an apprentice. Cara, who studied at Dudley College, will play a key role in managing and developing the company’s hire operations and which is now the UKs leading portable fun photo booth hire business.
Claire Warrington, Director at Photobooth.co.uk, said; “Ever since day one Cara has been keen to take an active role in the business and always shown a willingness to learn and develop. With our business having grown significantly over the last 18 months she was the natural choice to take on the management role as part of our expansion.
The appointment comes just days after Cara’s 21st birthday. Commenting on her promotion Cara said; “Ever since joining the team at Photobooth.co.uk they have always encouraged me to get involved and develop my skills and confidence, but I never imagined when I first started that I would have such a great opportunity after only being here since last January.
Whilst at Dudley College Cara studied Business Administration before beginning her apprenticeship with Photobooth.co.uk. Cara’s new role will see her taking responsibility for the weekly movement of over 20 fun photo booths that the company has available for hire across the UK as well as the management of the team of professional photo booth attendants who work with the company.
On hearing of Cara’s success Lowell Williams, Principal at Dudley College commented “Apprenticeships are a great way to provide young people with the skills employers are looking for. Promoting Cara to a management position will give her the opportunity to broaden her experience and support Photobooth.co.uk’s growth and sustainability.”
Cara’s assessor had nothing but praise for the newly promoted Hire Division Manager, saying. ”Cara’s fitted into her role really well, she’s very organised and always ready to help out so her promotion is justifiably deserved.”
Claire added; “I have always been a firm believer that even though not everyone goes down the university route to a career, everyone who works hard and applies themselves has the potential to develop and progress to equal success and Cara is no exception to this. ” Since taking on Cara Photobooth.co.uk employed a further Dudley College apprentice in an IT role and is currently seeking others in various roles across the company.
